WiFi connectivity issues

Hi, My Neo V is less than 3 weeks old but I have already observed a noticable fall in WiFi connectivity quality. In fact, even if I place my phone 12 inches away from my wireless router, the signal strenght hovers between poor and fair. And the moment I move the phone out of the room where the router is places, the connection is lost. Every other WiFi device in my house works perfectly well using the same modem - my Vaio laptops, my PS3 and even my small Nokia E52 backup phone are all able to connect without any problems all over the house. And mind yo my house is quite small!

I initially thought this was a problem with my router but I'm having the same problems with WifFi routers in all places - friends, hotspots... Do let me know if this could be a harware issue with the WiFi antenna in the handset or a software issue...

Cheers!

I believe this would be related to software, I suggest performing an update using the Update Service,

Let me know how this goes.

Hi Jake, Thanks for your suggestion. I did use the update service to get the latest software but the problem still persists. I tried running the update service again but now (as expected) it says the software is up to date! Can you suggest my next course of acion?

In this situation, I would suggets taking the handset back to the place of purchase as they should be able to help based on there instore warranty conditions, or contact the network who sent the handset to you if this is how you purchased the device.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did have one query though: will the type of encription I use for the WiFi access point affect the signal reception? I use WPA2 to secure the access point at home. Will changing it to WPA or mixed mode help imporve reception? Again, this does nto seem to be the problem with any of my other devices though...

Cheers!
