WiFi connection problems

Glad it's not just me! I got a Sony Experia Z1 Compact on contract with EE just over 3 weeks ago. After 2 days, I couldn't get a Wifi connection at home. The Wifi symbol would show intermittently & had saved the password. We have 3 Sony Vaio laptops, XBox, iphone & Blackberry, all having full connection. EE replaced the phone the same day.The new phone worked fine for 2 weeks, then yesterday, the same problem started. All other devices have full connectivity. It surely can't be 2 phones with the same problem? What are the odds? I had Wifi yesterday & this morning, none. Tried rebooting router and phone,no luck. I've taken my phone to the EE shop & they have sent it off for repair. Everyone is baffled. Surely there must be a simple explanation for this? Please help, anyone?

Hi there, I had my phone for about a month, and this problem has just occured to my phone, and a friend of mine has the same problem, as it has been a month since you posted and have gotten no reply I think there maybe an issue with phones

using the phone for two weeks now. As a first time sony user it takes time to adapt.

Anyway, fairly sattisfied until today.

Booked in to a hotel for a long stay and discovered that I'm the only one that can not use hotel wifi. I can search the available wifi networks, I can connect to it. But after connecting status of network goes to saved. Never connected. All of my collegues with samsungs, iphones etc can use the specific hotel wifi hotspot and two of us with brand new xperias are cut off.

Are we doing something wrong? Can it be possible that xperia wifi does not support certain wifi routers/technologies?

Personally I used dozen of wifi hotspots last two weeks (home, office, public, airport, hotel...) with no problem...

Later I decided to connect with my HP laptop to hotel wifi (no problem) and use USB cable to connect my xperia to PC and use PC internet connection. I could not find option to use PC internet over usb cable. Is this really impossible or I just can not find how to use this feature?

Now I took the sim out of my new xperia and am using my old HTC sensation and can pair with my pc, and use hotel wifi with no problem.

any solutions? thx
