wifi and google play problem please help me

I have only had this phone for 4 days i bought it to download games from google play and it wont let me,the wifi signal keeps dropping even though i am in the same room as the router,my son has a galaxy ace and has no problems with his please help me i really dont want to send this phone back because it is really easy to use in all other ways xxxx
