I've had this problem before with my phone, and now it's happening again:
I am unable to permenantly delete music albums and songs from my phone, they stay as ghost tracks on my Walkman.
I have tried everything I could think of - deleting the files from my SDcard, deleting the LOST.dir files, turning my phone off and back on again, but no use.. I try to delete the files from my Walkman, and they stay there..
Why is it so difficult to erase songs from my device?
Thank you!
You can also try to clear data for 'media storage'. Don't forget to restart your phone when it's done.
Thank you for your reply, I've done as you suggested, but unfortunately the ghost tracks are still on my Walkman App.
Is there any other way I can delete these files?
Thank you!
Just force restart after deleting lost.dir, clearing data for walkman and media storage. To force restart(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).
Can you play the songs in the Walkman app after you have tried to delete them?
Because if the songs are still listed after you have cleared data for media storage, it sounds like the files haven't been deleted. The files are still located in the phone.
Have you tried downloading a file manager or connected to PC to search for files?
OK, so...
I've forced a reset like you wrote... I have deleted the folder from my SDcard... I've tried deleting them from my Walkman - but they refuse to get deleted (and they won't play, either)... I've deleted the Lost.dir folder maybe 100 times - and it keeps reappearing!
Long story short: the ghost files live on!
Can you please elaborate regarding file manager or connecting to PC to search for files?
Thank you!
That file manager is a file explorer for android,to look for your ghost files. And the search option would be done from a PC(to look for your files).Have you tried clearing data for media storage and for walkman in settings-apps-all?
By name, that is what I meant. And a file explorer for your phone.
