Why is my xperia P cannot connect to my netbook?

I just bought an experia P a couple days ago, an I have Installed sony PC companion software in my netbook in order  to make my xperia P compatible with it. But unfortunately my netbook won't connect with it. All I want to do is just to be able to see all files I have in my xperia P in my netbook as well, I also want to be able to import musics from my netbook to my xperia P. Can anyone please help me with this? Sorry for my writing bytheway.

What windows do you have?Before connecting,make sure you have usb debugging mode activated(in developer options).
