I have my xperia play the touch screen become unresponsive, it couldn't touch, from the first it happen i could manage it by pressing softly to the edge of the screen then it could touch but by the other time the same thing happened it couldn't touch again.. do you think its the digitizer?

what was the last thing you did before it happned? did you install any apps that may have caused this?

I would suggest to try repairing using http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

just to eliminate software problems, be aware that it will delete your personal data, try making a backup using PCC

i didn't install anything, i just need to make a txt message to somebody and the thing happened it couldn't be touch nor you touch it to the edge of the screen for it wok, i think its the digitizer, so i decided to go to near sony service center but the personnel just make a simple look at the phone and say that the lcd is the reason.... huh???? lcd? thus lcd is not broken so impossible and make a price about that worth me a lot also she say that it took 2-3 weeks to repair, 2-3 weeks I don't have any phone to use... and added she test it like she almost scratches the screen of my phone using her finger nail i thing the finger itself not the nail...

So I decided to go to a professional and trusted repair center of mine I knows, finding out that the problem is the carbon flex of the phone. it maybe possible either the digitizer or the flex has the problem. The price is almost half of what latter laid...
