where is update 4.2.2?

i cant seem to update my Z to 4.2. i have tried on my phone and pc companion but saying phone is up to date, im in australia on the telstra network.

It may not be available for all countries/operators yet but try updating using PC Companion/Update service.

Could you please explain why the unbranded,sim free UK Xperia Z still has not got the 4.2.2 update? I know your reply will be " It has to be approved by carrier/operator/country etc" but the unbranded ones do not require this to be approved by them.

Vodafone and the 3 network have got the update, the unbranded sim free ones should be updated first. I have been checking SUS and PC Companion and says i have the latest software.

Yes, it is unfathomable how Sony can give the updates to carriers on phones that have specific carrier apps and branding yet are unable to roll out the update to phones in the UK that have no carrier branding or carrier apps. The only explanation being that clearly Sony value their relationships with UK phone companies a heck of a lot more than they value their relationships with individuals buying their products direct.

Which is something I will certainly be bearing in mind the next time I consider making a Sony purchase.

Sonys firmware rollout policy and customer support on this is a complete mess and is nothing short of farcical.

This is the main reason why many people are flashing wrong roms because we are sick and tired of Sonys shambolic update policy.  Disgusting.

like someone else already pointed it out, i don't know why the non carrier xperia z must wait far more for the update. if the support team in the forum and the one you reach by email are going to just copy and paste the samething, i don't see why sony would even hired them.
