Where do back-ups get saved on a Mac??

I've tried to back-up my Xperia S several times using the spectacularly USELESS 'Sony Bridge for Mac'; it tells me that it has backed up everything except 'other', so I figure something at least has backed up - but where do these back-ups go on a Mac? I don't know where to look for them to check whether anything at all has even been backed up....

Hi AliWonder,

I am sorry to hear bridge is not working properly for you.

The back-ups are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac/Backups

Hope that helps!

Best Regards,

David

Hi...
There is no Sony Bridge folder in the application support as mentioned above.
Could you please confirm the location where backups are stored in Mac.

I have the same problem.

I really like to have some sort of controll over files on my computer, and I've search for "Sony" "Bridge" and so on...but nothing.

I did a back-up in the Sony Bridge application, but can't seem to locate the folders...please confirm location.

What @David said is not correct. There is no such directory on my machine, either. Could someone who designed Bridge please deign to tell us the actual answer to the question now?

Thank you.

Hi Isiugkgkgli,

Respectfully, you are wrong. I am working with Bridge for Mac, and yes they are stored in the folder I specified.

Things you can try:

1. Do you have any successful backups on your computer?

2. Search for the folder in Finder

3. you can try opening the terminal and enter

cd ~/Library/"Application Support"/"Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac"/Backups

Make sure you have quotation marks around Application Support and Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac

then enter: "open ."

without the quotation marks.

That should open the folder with the backups. (see images below)

if you still can't find it, please get back to me.

Hi David,

I cannot get your instructions to work although I  very seriously tried to follow your instructions to obtain the stored backup data from my Xperia Device.   It does not work.

You work for Sony on this software and thats the best you can do for us?  I really need to access the contacts from my stored backup, and your software SAYS it is stored on the computer....so the big question I need an answer to, in laymans terms, is WHERE THE F**K IS IT AND HOW DO I ACCESS IT!!??!?!?!?!

Also, I have a very simple question for you that seems to have been completely overlooked in the development of this sub-par application.

You can't restore a backup onto a new z1S from an old z1s.  It has to be from the EXACT SAME phone??? Really?? Someone should be fired for this.  THE ENTIRE REASON PEOPLE BACK UP THEIR PHONES IS IN THE EVENT THAT THE PHONE MIGHT BE LOST, SO WHY WOULD YOU ONLY BE ABLE TO RESTORE A BACKUP ONTO THE SAME PHONE???

This is so ridiculous it makes my head hurt.  Suggestions?  Feedback?   Explanation so your entire team doesn't look like a bunch of fools?
