WhatsApp not working in Xperia P(LT22i)

Hi,

WhatsApp is not working in my phone.

I installed it from Play Store and it got installed successfully.

But in the Verify your phone number step I am having problem.

Whenever I press OK after entering my phone number I get Error.

Error Message:-

Unable to connect .Please check that you are connected to the internet and try again.

Please reboot your phone if your connection problem persists.

********************

However all other application which are using internet are getting connected to internet properly.

So I don't think the problem is with internet connection.

Please suggest.

Before repairing your phone make sure that u have charged it atleast for 1.5 hrs and is fully charged. I have not seen this error before but I guess this may be either because of internet connection error or insufficient battery during repair.  By the error we can quitely understand that error is with application, try it again with full battery. You are repairing it through SUS i guess.

I had the similar issue where internet was working but none of my chat applicaitons were working. I contacted Sony Support and they asked me to contact mobile service provider i.e. Vodafone in my case. I contacted Vodafone cutomer support at 111, they then sent me an updated GPRS settings on my phone. They said it is a very common problem and can be rectified very easily. After applying the new GPRS settings recevied from Vodafone, everything is working fine. Please note that you yourself can check:

1) Go to Settings

2) More...

3) Mobile Networks

4) Access Point names or APN

5) Select Vodafone Connect (if any other option is connected)

Please note that do not do 'reset factory settings' because that will not help.

Not sure of your actual name.  But I must say a ton of thanks to you as your suggestion helped me in resolving all problems which I had with my brandnew xperia p. I had three problems with my xperia p. They were whatsapp not working, gtalk not working, notification tone not working.  And with you suggestion of selecting the proper network setting everything is working fine now.  Thanks again.....!!!:)
