What's internal memory of Neo?

Hello Friends, hope you all are doing good.

What's the Internal memory of Neo? Kindly please segment it as per the consumption i.e. Total how much? how much reserved for Android? How much for user? What's the drawback/disadvantage ?

Okay, so you mean to say..

out of 1024 MB,

192 MB for Android OS & default apps

512 MB RAM in which all the apps, OS calls run and

320 MB is free for storage

= Total 1024 MB (1 GB)

Like that?

no RAM =/= Internal Memory

RAM 512MB which it's divided as you can see on those threads

and 1GB Internal Memory, which after Android and preloaded apps and all that the user, us, get "up to" 320MB

Okay, mate I already read those threads but no description about below query..

Sony Ericsson says, "Internal phone storage: 1GB (up to 320MB free) "

Why only 320MB is available to User? What about other 680MB memory?

680MB = Android OS installation + pre-loaded apps?

like in PC, windows xp os takes some space in c:\ drive along with some pre-installed apps like IE, Antivirus..etc ?

Evantually, I am at that stage where I need to use this Link2SD app now as I am running out of the memory for all my very needy apps on my phone which I can not remove or move

After reading this entire awesome tutorial and some reviews over the web, I am still confused and scared about tampering with my phone. And why not, I love it and bought it after collecting every penny hardly Though, I have MOD my k770i phone previously, howerever bit scared with doing these advanced operation with my smartphone as after MOD k770i, after 1 year my EROM got corrupted of CID53 and I was helpless till I bought this Xperia Neo (almost 2 years :smileysad:), couldn't repair it online too due to CARDS problems.

Hence friends, just asking for the sake, Above operations will not cause any harm to my phone? to my chipset or any other hardware? Will my phone work as it is working now?

If there is even 1% risk also, then do tell me, I ll compromise my life. Thanks!

the only problem if any "COULD" harm your SD card, but not your phone, you will be rooting but you won't delete anything from your phone.

or

you could root and delete unwanted pre-installed apps to free up some internal memory.

Is this harm or facility? I think it is facility which User can remove. Right?

So removing pre-installed apps causes error or harms phone?

Okay, just I asked you about any harm or problem. Well it seems, looking at above warning, it will cause harm or any future problem as soos as update comes, won't it?
