Looks like Sony didn't include one of the important performance improvements with their version of 4.3 - TRIM.
You'll probably have noticed that performance slowly degrades after a reinstall as the device storage gets increasingly fragmented over time. TRIM stops that from happening. Pretty useful, no?
Anyway, I just checked my phone logs after noticing a bit of lag creep in after a week or so with .201 only to find no TRIM.
Another good reason not to bother with the upgrade.
It also begs the question - is KitKat worth having if it's some watered down Sony version with lots of the good bits left out?
Really? one of the most important things of 4.3 is trim, if you ask me. I feel left out.
There is this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix
Do you think it works?
Edit: It requires root.
I saw this app before buying SP and it had 4.1 then I read that trim is native to 4.3 and said ok I can wait, then... Nevermind, so this is the reason keyboard opened like in 6 seconds before I reset the phone...
Honestly i dont know what is trim
But as i figured out from your words it prevents from further lafing after using phone after long time
I think that why my phone start some crash and lags after 2-3 month of using it..at start i got flawless 4.3
Yeah, some reviews report bircked devices. Rooting voids varranty, so if something unfortunate happens, we have to pay.
They should have included it. How can I check if my phone has it or not? Phone logs you say. Do you mean battery usage list, or some kind of logging app like wakelock detector or something?
Yes it can be undone but only if the device is still working. And that app does not guarantee that. Anyways, I am not that advanced in Android and some of the apps either needs root or too old. Thanks though. Maybe we can ask directly to Sony or Developer World?
Yeah that is true, if you brick your phone while rooted, I guess you're on your own.
Might want to check XDA forums if you want a more expert opinion on apps that implement fstrim. I doubt asking Sony will get you anywhere.
Shouldn't have to bother with this anyway - it is a core part of Android 4.3.
