I've tried 2 options but none of it got the job done perfectly :
#1 - I've created playlists with Media Player on my pc and got it synced the old fasion way. All I got was empty playlist with the right names.
#2 - I've copied a folder with some tracks to the sd card and with right click made "make a new playlist". That worked fine but when I changed the playlist's name - it was gone from the list. When I try to change the name via pc the window just freezes.
Now I have several playlist with name "new playlist" and a number...
I simply use the Walkman app which I believe was preinstalled on the phone. All my music is on the SD card which I use in the phone for music and photos. Walkman seems very easy to create playlists and I am happy with it.

The only problem with making playlists via the Walkman App is that I can't choose the songs by SD folder. I have to scroll all the way to my favorite songs or search'em one by one. Too much work. Theres gotta be a better way.
If you have MediaGo installed on your PC you can also create the Playlist using this and then just import he Playlist to the phone. Simply navigate the the "Playlists" tab on MediaGo and choose "New Playlist".

I'll give it a try (again). My MediaGo crashes everytime I try to create a playlist (or just by opening it sometimes...).
Try updating the version of Java you have as this should help the stability:

Well, I've updated MediaGo. It doesnt crash anymore but it didnt fix my problem neither... I've inported all the playlists from WMP to MediaGo, chose a playlist, pressed "add to" to "Xperia Z1 compact SDcard" and watched it sync. The playlist doesnt show up in neither MediaGo or Walkman. and by the way, I cant erase any playlist in Walkman...
HI, I could create the playlists in MediaGo and import them to my phone. But later I cannot edit these MediaGo-Playlists directly on the phone.
Further, by using MediaGo to import the songs into the phone all album-cover information was suppressed. If I import the songs via file exüplorer the album covers are visible in Walkmann App.
So, it seems that MediaGo doesn't work well if Walkmann App.
