What is current sony UK line on broken magnetic charging ports.

I saw a good deal of discussion of people having trouble with the charging port falling apart with very variable support.

Mine has managed to fail in a different way, the bar magnet is still in place but the tiny brassy coloured cap over the lower charging pin has dropped off.

So have Sony started repairing this stuff easily or does it require a fight?

Do they actually fix it, change the chassis or swap the phone, maybe I will get the intermittent SDCard slot fixed too.

What I would like to avoid is the 

Speak to support "doh not a clue, send it in"

Send it away

Wait a while

Get told it is not covered, hundreds to fix or £30 to get it back.

I'd like to know what other people have experienced.

The headphione socket is failing now too, I suppose that is something else I will have a struggle with.
