what happens if i stop the pc companion while restore is stuck

I was trying ti restore xperia z2 from pc companion and it has been stuck at the same point for hours. is it okay to stop teh restoe midway or will that damage the phone?

It is a big backup file.Media should be copied manually to avoid this kind of situations.Try to stop it.
