Weird Problem on New Z1

Hi guy,
I bought a brand new Z1 a month ago and yestersay it started acting up. I updated to 4.4.4 from 4.4.2 about a week ago (just so you know) it didn't have a single problem then. But now it heats up rather unusally more than it used to when it was doing the same things before yesterday and when I charge my battery it heats up like **bleep**. But the main problem is when I lock my device the display doesn't fully turn off it goes black up there is a light or backlight some gloomy light on the display and it's creeping me out I haven't done anything for this to act in such a way no root bootloader locked I dormitory even try to do any of those things three screen is partially on and @night in the dark you can seen it's on and bright compared to total darkness like when I turn my device fully off and there is also some minor lag and crashes like shazam and messenging Apps also a really weird case is that when I turn the device off and on again the battery has depleted by 9-10% so any answers are welcome and please keep in mind that warrenty is my very last option because there isn't a Sony service station in the whole country where I live (Sri Lanka) so I Have to Ship the phone to get my warrenty.
Thanx in advance

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Given the nature of the problem I would advise trying a firmware repair:

Please note that performing these steps will delete all user data except for your media files (photos, music and video).

If your handset is able to be powered on and unlocked you can follow the below steps to back-up your personal data prior to running the repair.

Backing up your handset

To back up your phone using PC Companion
1. Go to Support  to install PC Companion on a Windows computer.
2. When installed, start PC Companion on the computer.
3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
4. Click Start under Backup & Restore.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model.
You can view detailed information about this as you follow the steps in the Backup & Restore wizard.

Running the software repair

Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software and install it on your PC.

Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.

Please ensure your phone is powered off and not connected to the PC when you begin this process. You are not required to connect the phone until after step 10.

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

2. Phone Software Update.

3. Start.

4. Repair Phone

5. Continue

6. Accept data removal

7. Next

8. Wait for prepare

9. Select Phone

10. Follow the connection steps

Hi,

I have the same problem regarding backlight in my Xperia Z1. I run "SOFTWARE FIX" via PC Companion, but it did not solve the problem.

Do what should I do in this case? This problem is affecting battery lifetime I think, can I expect SONY to replace my phone to new, properly working one in terms of warranty?

Thanks for answering,

Regards.
