waterproof charging port won't stay closed

Hi. So I have seen that ports not closing properly seems to be a common fault. Will Sony repair this? Mine has been like this since the day I bought it. However I bought it from.carphone warehouse so cannot return it!! I have had my phone since August 2014 and haven't tried to do anything about it as the shop closed so assumed I wouldn't be able to.
However my husband persuaded me to try on here for advice.
Pants having a waterproof phone I've never been able to put underwater.

You could buy the usb cover on amazon and replace it yourself, you can find them for less than $10
