Some weeks ago my phone got wet in the rain. It wasnt submerged and the covers were closed. About 2 weeks after my on/ off button stopped working. When I took it into the shop from where I bought it I was shown a little tab under the cover and the attendant told me that water had eneterd the phone as this indicated so. As such he wanted me to pay £190 for repairs. I suggested that the phone was faulty then as water should not have entered the phone only to be told that there was nothing he could do. Luckily my camera button still worked and so I used this to activate the phone. However, about 4 weeks later this also stopped working and so my phone ran down and I now cant turn it back on. I did try on line diagnostics via the Sony site before the phone became inactive!!
Well, I was speaking to a friend of mine the other day who also had a Sony Z1. I asked to look at his 'water indicator' and to my surprise this was red....indicating it had been affected by water. He assures me it hasn't and his phone works fine!!!
So Sony, when will you accept that, as with all electrical items, some of your products may also be faulty? My phone is faulty, through no fault of mine and I am currently paying almost £40 per month for nothing. Despite this both Vodafone and Sony refuse to accept any responsibility. I say this about Sony as despite sending you an email you have failed to even respond. The customer service has been nil. You may be an multinational corporation who doesn't give a **bleep** about an individual but hopefully word will spread about the obvious fault and incredibly poor service.
