hey guys...
I just had a doubt regarding the warranty.
I purchased my Xperia L on 1st of July 2013.
On 23rd of June 2014, My Xperia L's camera flash stopped working. I tried all the methods, but it still didn't work.
( i.e. The warranty is almost over with just 7 days left )
( My problem is same as this user ( see post #3): http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-L/camera-flash-light-issue/td-p/549719 )
I took the phone to the service centre on 23rd june 2014 & next day ( 24th June ), they informed me that the motherboard has been replaced & i can collect the phone without paying any charges.
I thought sony's customer service was awesome until i faced this issues on collecting the phone. :
1. I opened the back panel to insert the sim & i noticed that the replaced board was placed rather shabbily & didn't at all look new. I asked them about the authenticity of the board & they replied rudely that it is new & not refurbished & they can't give proof for it. ( IMEI has changed & i am guessing this is due to the new motherboard ?? )
2. As the warranty will end on 1st july 2014 ( 6 days after i received my phone ), i asked whether i would be getting any extended warranty on the replaced motherboard. Since, according to them, its a new board, should'nt i get some sort of warranty for it ?? .when i asked them about this, they said that the new motherboard will not have any extra warranty period & its warranty will also end on 1st July 2014.
So, if i encounter any problem on ( say 6th of july or within 1-2 months after 1st JUly 2014 ), i have to pay for the service as well as the parts replaced ??
shouldn't the replaced Board have some sort of extended warranty ??( its a motherboard, for god's sake, not a cheap back panel :smileyangry:)
I Hope to get some truth here.
Regards
Ash
I'm sorry to hear that.
I suggest that you raise this with your local support team to check which warranties that apply after device repair/board swap in your region.
