Complete newbie to Sony, I placed some mp3's into a folder within the phone, but for some reason within walkman app. the tracks are all showing up twice each.
Deleted the files, then added different ones, restarted phone etc. But it keeps on showing duplicate tracks?
Try clearing data for Walkman under Settings > Applications > All. Restart your phone and look again.
Are they still there?
Hello, I have the same problem. I followed the instructions, deleted the app data, restarted the phone but the repeated tracks are still there. It is quite annoying because if i want to listen one album I will hear the song thrice. Please any idea to sort this out?
Cheers
I had the same problem. I took the music files off my memory card (copied them to my PC) ran up walkman so that it showed no files in it's database. I then copied the files back to the memory card, ran walkman and all the files appeared only once again.
I really do not know what could make them appear twice.Try to delete lost.dir folder in internal storage, clear data for walkman(there are 2 apps) and restart.
hi,
I am using Xperia E and my walkman had same problem, my tracks is showing duplicate...
but I can solve the problem with my way...
but my problem showing duplicate only from song in external memory... so this I did for solve the problem :
1. Backup your all song from external memory (ex : /ext_card/Music) to your notebook or PC.
2. Delete one of the track that showing duplicates with one by one (if the rest can not be deleted and can not be played, just calm and continue deleting, if can not be deleted, it's reasonable because showing duplicate but same song source, if the song deleted, so the rest track can not be played).
3. If number 2 done, check your song collection with file explorer (ex : /ext_card/Music) and all your song is gone.
4. restore your song backup from notebook/PC to your memory phone (external memory). (don't open walkman, just go to number 5)
5. Delete LOST.DIR folder on your internal storage. (ex: /sdcard/LOST.DIR)
6. Setting > App > All > Walkman > Clear data
7. Restart your phone
8. Check your walkman tracks and if not showing duplicate again, it works, if not, I don't know more
Risk :
Number 2 : waste your time if you had many song collection like me (250+)
(Showing Duplicate)
(all my song is gone (just image left))
(it not showing duplicate anymore :D)
and it's all from me, I did this way and work for me...
thanks, and sorry for my bad english
Yes,sometime the files are not saved correctly or the files are not deleted correctly,so LOST.DIR has them. They appear duplicate until the files are deleted directly from walkman and the data is cleared, phone restarted.
but if I just delete LOST.DIR, clear data, and restart phone, the walkman still showing duplicate, so I must delete 1 by 1 every duplicate tracks and restore song then delete LOST.DIR, clear data, and restart phone.
It worked for me once when I had a problem like this(my songs were not in the phone, but they appeared in walkman even after restarting).
