This is the bug where the Walkman app will insert a split-second pause, repeatedly, at random, throughout the playback of MP3s. You could call it 'skipping'.
This bug has been documented here a few times by other people, but I'm only experiencing it lately... It's gotten increasingly worse over time. It used to happen briefly and then not happen again... But now it's happening at regular intervals... I'm wondering if anyone has found a fix yet?
I've just played a single 6+ minute Boards of Canada tune, and using walkman, I experienced this 'skipping' at the following intervals;
0:20
1:08
1:24
1:40
2:04
2:33
3:38
4:19
5:04
5:53
6:08
That's ELEVEN skips during one single song!
I then played the same song back with Google's Play Music app, and it didn't skip a single time. Not even once.
So, it's clearly an issue with the Walkman app, and not the MP3 files.
This is frustrating as the Walkman app delivers better sound quality than the Play Music app, but is repeatedly skipping.
These tests were done with Wi-Fi, Data and Bluetooth turned off. All other apps were closed also.
Can anybody help? Has anyone found a fix or a better Walkman APK...? Has the issue even been acknowledged by Sony.....?
Many thanks in advance of any feedback,
Lemon
Seems to be a software related issue and may be solved easily by repairing using SUS:
