I bought a Sony Home Cinema set bdv-nf72 with wifi. With throw it should be possible to play music from your walkman to the home cinema set. But every time I start the walkman app it plays only one song, if I am lucky. Most of the time it stops in the middle of a song and the walkman app crashes. There are also a lot of song wich cannot be played by the home cinema set. I get the message: This file is corrupt or not supported. I found another mediaplayer and it plays everything.
In a prevous post I mentioned the annoying message with keeps on coming on screen. Null is ready for playback share photos or music etc. Does someone know which service or app is responsible for that, so I can switch the message off.
I read a lot about upgrading to 4.2. But I rather have an update fixing those bugs. For example, every now and then the lighrsensor stops working (even after it was fixed twice at a service center) I now know which app is responsable for it and I mailed with the devoloper and he said it was a Sony problem. Only Sony phones had this problem. And there are more apps with problems and all the developpers say its a Sony problem.
By the way. Can one of the moderators tell me what is so secret about Sony updates. Since I have my Xperia T I had two updates. I searched it on the site and on the internet but no information. Why can't you inform your customers in a proper way.
You know I really like Sony, it's UI and design but it is to buggy and Sony gives there customers the feeling they are ignored. The days Samsung was a standard brand are long gone. They make well designed products of good quality
If Sony keeps on ignoring custumers and delivers beautiful but buggy products, customers run away. I believe Samasung already sells more TV;s than Sony. And I know the devices become more complicated, so the chanche on bugs is greater, but Sony ignores cusomers with complaints, waits way to long for a solution ( Reinstall the software with SUS or PC Companion is NOT a solution) and keeps quiet about the updates. I have my Xperia for 6 months now. It went 2 times to a service center and I did a software reinstall for 3 times. Apart for the long dowloading time, you spent an afternoon in reinstalling apps and homescreens. The Samsung Galaxy I had before I had to do it 1 time and it was my fault because I fu**ed up an upgrade
Like I said I love the Sony products but I'd rather have a Skoda that works than a Ferrari with engine problems.
Do you know if this problem occurs regardless of what device you use for Thow or if it's specific for this device? I've been testing Throw but can't replicate this problem but i'm not able to test with that home cinema system.
If you don't have another device to test with you could use a computer and XBMC as explained here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/DLNA/m-p/351822#U351822.
I think the notification is given by the app called "Xperia extension for Throw" but you can't disable notifications for this app from Settings -> Apps. Try turning off notifications from Settings -> Xperia -> Throw settings and see if this helps.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel ignored but regarding updates i don't have that information but i'll do what i can and forward your feedback and suggestions.
No I am pretty sure it's from Throw. If the detects a device a notification is given in the notification bar. If yoy press it you can choose with device you want to connect with. I tried some server apps, like XMBC, Plex and Avia. It seems when its a multimedia device or appliance I get the messages, because Trow is also used for my blue tootht headphones (MW600) If I use that there are no repeating notifications.
Can you also enlighten me about the Walkman app? It stops playing and crashes. Not sometimes but always. Is an app issue, or maybe android issue? I have different musicplayers installed on my phone. The most used is Winamp.
Thanks
I had a similar problem - if you press the power button (just once to bring the screen to life) does the music start again?
If so, mine did this but has stopped since the latest software update
If you turn off notifications under Settings -> Xperia -> Throw settings it should not give you any notification when a device is available (at least mine doesn't).
I've seen some reports of Walkman stopping here on the forum but so far i've been unable to replicate this. Does this happen when you play a certain song/album/playlist? Does this happen both when playing songs from internal storage and SD-card?
Hi Rickard
It happens with nearly every song/album. The song stops in the middle or in case of an album it plays only one song instead of the whole album. But most of the times it stops when a song is playing. All my music is located on the external sd card, wich is not a cheap one. It only happens when I play my music to my Sony blu ray home cinema set. (bdv nf720) I use some avia app and this one plays without any problem.
I also shouls mention that lately many different apps just crash. You think this is a JB 4.1 problem or may be a faulty app? Could it be a memory problem. I have moved most of my apps (when possible) to the sd card. I also have tthe stamina mode checked on.
I hope you have solution (not the reinstall software) :smileysmileywink:
What happens if you try using Throw and Walkman when the phone is in safe mode? See this thread for information on how to start in safe mode: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008.
When an app crashes it could be a problem with that app, low memory in the phone or a 3:rd party app causing problems (usually task killers). By using safe mode you can check if the problem is caused by an installed app or not.
I tried the safe mode and the app does not crash in safemode, but it still stops after every song. I tried loading an album and a playlist, but makes no difference. In the Walkman mode, if you press and hold the albumcover you can make a favotite, toggle shuffle and (I think?) repeat song. It's a curved arrow. It was highligted and I could not change it. I don't that has something to to do with the player stopping after each song
So the app crash probably is caused by an other app? I have Clean Master installed and Avast Mobile Security (virusapp) I could also be a memory issue because sometimes it takes a whil before my homscreens are loaded. Thats why I have Clean Master installed to clear some memory. Many apps are running without me using them. I don't want to delete those apps but I don't want them using memory either if I am not using them. Any suggestions?
If the problem doesn't happen when the phone is in safe mode the problem is caused by another app (probably task killer) or low memory. I would start by making sure that the task killer is set to only kill apps/processes from other apps you have installed.
I'm not sure why your playback stops after every song, it should not do that. Could you try placing an album on the internal storage and see if the problem remains when playing that? Does it also stop after every song when using Throw to another device (XBMC for example)?
