W980 media software - tracklist issue

I am a big believer in "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" so don't really like updating the software on my phone - this time however I was having some problems with my W980 switching itself off. I updated the software and thankfully the problem seems to have gone away.

Unfortunately I now seem to have a problem transferring music to it... no matter what "order" the tracks are sequenced in the media transfer seems to use a shotgun approach. All of my files within an album are named with track number first (2 digits) and the track number in the ID3 tag is also fine - the Media Go software recognises the correct order and then transfers them one by one in the correct order. The phone software then does whatever it wants, sequencing them sometimes alphabetically and sometimes what seems to be randomly! I do not remember having this problem before on my W800, W950 or even at first with my W980. Whatever happened to Disc2Phone as this seemed to be a much more stable / faster / easier software to use!?

Is anyone else having the same problem? Or is there some way to reload the track sequence in the phone? (without creating playlists one track at a time for each album).

Any help much appreciated as it's beginning to really wind me up!

I have noticed the same thing with SE walkman phones-is the track order alphabetical in Walkman mode but in the correct sequence in your file manager?

Or vice-versa? You can select "update media" from your settings in your media menu; this takes a few minutes and should reorganise your music files back to their normal album sequence.

Thanks DrChris,

It was all alphabetical on my phone... but OK in the File Manager. Having redownloaded it all it seems to be OK for now - guess that had the same impact as updating the media files (did wonder what that was for, since you dont actually need to do that!).
