I don't know if SE will do it, but last time the X10 was dead after android 2.1 and after people kept requesting and XDA developers showed that 2.3 could be done on the X10, SE released 2.3.3

I wonder if SE will do the same now that Android Ice Cream Sandwich it's about to be released, it would make sense if SE does it, why? because will make all their customers happy and it will give SE and edge, SE could easily say that all if not most of their Android Smartphones have Ice Cream Sandwich

It could happen but in the light of the statements by the SE CEO recently, I very much doubt it.

Yes.

Since the focus of SE is now on smartphones ==> feature phones will not be a priority for SE anymore. Pity, I liked certain previous feature phones from SE

Hey,I think that it is quite weird for a phone that was quite recently released to not have the latest software.I think sony ericsson should hurry release at least software version 2.2(froyo) for sony ericsson W8(E16i).Even other phones which were released much earlier then W8 can run version 2.2 or higher.W8 is a really good phone,but with the software update,W8 would definitely be a better phone.All in all,I hope sony ericsson would have a software update for W8(to at least version 2.2).Thank you........

I have been using SE for quite a few years to start off with .
W200
K660i
W550i
Hazel
and the reason is this W8

"The good news is that there is no upgrade available for 2.2. OR 2.3."
Firstly,The seller told me the update will be available soon .
It's already been like 4 months and reading this make me so bad.....
Secondly, Phone can be loaded with custom ROM like Cynogenmod ,
but if i had to do that i am also using a HTC phone which already runs on Eclair .

This phone have simply resulted a waste for me ....
and i wont buy SE again .

Brand like Samsung is providing updates for the phone they cost half the price of SE .
There is no point in buying SE guys , if u want to spend money go buy Apple OR HTC ...or any better phone rather than relying on SE .
