w350a- microphone problem

The built in microphone on my 2 year old w350a is barely working. Person on the other end can barely hear me. Increasing the volume (using side button during call) does not do anything. . I updated software- no help. Any suggestions? Has anyone had this problem? is the phone repairable?

You can re-run the update service via PC and/or use the "repair phone" option, again via PC suite.Failing this, you can perform a master reset on the phone, remembering to back all your data up whichever of the above options you choose.If none of this works, contact SE.

Thanks Doc, but since I already have erased and reinstalled the software, and still have the same problem, redoing that seems to have a very, very low probability of succeeding.
