Video recording limitation.

Video recording limitation.

I have been using the video recording with full HD 60fps, but the camera app is closed about 1-2 minutes later from the starting due to the high temperature.
It means I cannot take the video 2 minutes more with this option(full HD 60fps).

Actually, I am using LG G3 bought 2 years before, and can take the movie 5 minutes with UHD Quality even this is Sanpdragon 801. (It limits 5minutes as maximum.)

I think this issue is not related to the chipset and hope Sony can improve this issue with SW update.

@kilee I had the same problem as you in every video mode. 1080/60 or 4k sometimes it would record 8 minutes, other times 2 or 3 minutes. It would heat up pretty fast. I swapped to a new nano sim, tried a lot of sdcards on which I did low level format and a bunch of benchmarks and other stuff, tried to record to the internal and external memory, checked the ambient temperature and also let the phone on idle for a long time and checked its temperatures to no avail. Sometimes it would perform so and so and others a total let down. I sent it back, the store personal inspected and tested the phone and a few days later gave me a new one. With the replacement I'm really happy, except for some details on both camera's assembly and lens, but I have achieved at least 3 times recording 4k for 23-25 minutes. Air temperature at this time of the year here is in between 16-21. I even did a video playing drums with all options of the camera on... 1080/60 and 4 K recording times fine here.
Probably it could be a hardware issue. I would try contact the place from whom you bought to see what can be done.

Thanks for the kind opinion and I will try to visit Sony can centre.
Actually I questioned to them via email at the first and they informed me it is spec-In... Slightly_frowning_Face

They wouldn't say anything different. They are responding to emails and for all I know, it could be a 5 year old writing, an employee that only cares about going home or having a good evaluation in the end of the year... If it's spec in, they should show some kind of sheet.
And why is that some people have no problems recording for a long while and others do? Unless it's 30 'C where you live and are recording to a SD card inferior to class 10, I don't think that is normal.
I should point out that I'm using a SanDisk U3 card at the moment.

Today i was recording 4K video at my house and the camera shut down after 1min 4sec...

Sony is yet to find a solution for this problem? Will this ever get fixed on my Xz? Such a sad thing to see i paid 750USD roughly for this phone

@Sailor Where do you save the video? If it's an external microSD, make sure it's a fast one.

I've just done 4k recording, got to 5 minutes and I stopped it. No warning, no shutdown.
I can't explain why or how but I'm just not seeing the results some on here are.

Same here. I've had no such issues thus far.

During the weekend, I took several videos and it was possible to record landscape around 10 minutes more.

But, when I took the video for my family(persons), it runs about 5 minutes or less.

I`m sure that this issue related to the face tracking.

Even I have been using Sony microSD card to support U3(MLC/R:95MB/W:90MB), I also tried to record the video to internal storage but the result was same.
