Hi ... i downloaded some videos with the subtitles

now i want to know some thing about the default video player software for xperia sp

as u know Xperia SP has BRAVIA 2 ENGINE .

and i have two questions :

1 - can i watch videos with the BRAVIA 2 when i using other video players except the default sony software (Movies) ?

2 - how can i load subtitles ( with srt - sub \ idx formats ) for my videos on the default sony software ( Movies ) ?

The default cannot play subs,unless they are embedded.As for the bravia,I think just in the phone default apps is available.

so , how my brother watches videos with default software with subtitles ?????

my brother has Xperia Z and he uses Movies software ! he has videos with srt format subtitles !

I have tried on my older Xperia P,don't remember it working...but in the newer versions of Xperia may be.

I knew it is not possible,the default app does not understand a .srt file.

i asked from my brother ! he has just one video player and that is MOVIES software for sony

and that movies software can understand just .srt subtitles ( cant read sub / idx subtitles )

i want to know how can i install that version of movies on my xperia sp ? can i do this ? or that version is jusr for xperia z ?

Which phone does he has? if its the same Xperia SP then go to settings > apps > all > look for the video app and check the version

He has Xperia Z !

Indeed that is available on the movie app for the Z and Z1, you could sideload the app but I don't know if it'll work
