Video Playback Issues

Another day, another serious issue crops up on my XZ. The first day I got it, when I tried to play a pre-loaded Sony movie trailer, it just stuttered and did not play smoothly at all. Thought must app issue & ignored. Today I try playing videos on YouTube, video doesn't play, load a movie file in supported format, again video just stutters. Tried playing video in Chrome, that too suffers the same result. even Snapchat stories aren't loading and the same glitch too! This is some serious video codecs issue with the software. I'm just extremely disappointed with the number major bugs I'm facing in barely 10days of buying a so called premium flagship phone & staying loyal to Sony. And none of previous posts have been responded to from a single Sony representative. Fingerprint scanner doesn't serve any purpose, double tap to wake also a dud feature & now video playback glitch among many other issues other users are reporting!

SONY, please respond and show some accountability from your end.

This is a user based forum, you can contact your Local support, you should test your phone in >>> safe mode also, are you streaming videos/snapchat through data or WiFi?

@uliwooly, I'm well aware this a user based forum, hence this is my first choice of place to report issues and get feedback from other users. As far reaching out to Sony representatives, I don't see any wrong in that. There's a very good reason they should be responding to queries in this forum too!

I've tried over both data & Wi-Fi and the issue keeps cropping up often. It had temporarily solved after a restart but it's back again.

As suggested, I did run the phone in safe mode for a while. Like I mentioned previously, the glitch does not occur after a restart, same in this case too. It all seemed fine, whether streaming on YouTube, playing video files on the phone memory etc. After I booted back normally, it seemed fine. It's been a couple of hours now and the glitch is back again. Noticed it while try to stream a video on Facebook, went back into YT app, same there too.

It's a third party acting up, that's why it doesn't happen while on safe mode

But how do you explain the same glitch I noticed when the device was fresh out of the box and tried playing a pre-loaded content from Sony using the stock video player? I had not installed any 3rd part app nor have I installed any other media players on the device now!

Boot in >>> safe mode again, but this time for more than 4 hours and see if you can replicate the issue.
