Video playback issue

My Z3 seems to have a lot of issues with video playback. I get garbled green artefacts and play often stops with audio carrying on.

I get this in YouTube, Facebook and the Movies app.

I've tried full factory wipes and all the available updates. Issue remains.

Any idea?

Are you streaming videos or videos recorded with your phone?

Recorded videos seem fine.

All streaming YouTube and Facebook videos are messed up.

Some locally downloaded videos work some don't.

Doesn't matter if I'm on WiFi or 3/4g - connection speeds are fine.

Feels to me like an encoder issue, but surely this would be effecting all z3 users if this was the case...

Not the same as above.

Latest versions of all apps and latest system update.

Just shot a video of the issue - uploading to youtube so will post a  link in a second.

Once again - this happens on the stock factory firmware wih no updates applied, it still happens when all the apps are updated to current versions through the play store and xperia update.

It happens on Kitkat - it happens on Lollipop

It happens after a complete factory wipe

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Complete factory flash performed as per instructions and problem still apparent.

I noticed Youtube works fine until it is updated, Facebook on the other hand has issues straight away.
