Video playback is lagging - cannot play h.264 mp4 files in the default mocie player

Though I kinda like the new settings when I first update it to JB, but I've grown to hate it because of the lag issues. Is there anyway to downgrade it to ICS? Because I so love my acro s phone at that time... no problems at all... I was ecstatic when there was the JB update but if there will be a lot of issues just because of this can my phone just go back to the way it used to be?

My main issue for the JB update is this: Video playback is lagging when using MX player (HD/h.264 mp4 files)... and worse, when I'm using the video player itself. it cannot play those files. and I think I'll be having problems when I record vids using the phone's camera... the most important feature of the phone for me is the video playback since I can watch videos in HD in this phone (without having to convert it - when using MX player)!!! This was not a problem before when its still under ICS..

Problems encountered after the update

1. as I have stated, Video playback is lagging. for the love of... converting video files to whatever format just to play it in my phone is a pain... since I need to test it over and over again just to check if converted file is compatible with the phone...

2. Since I'm having problems with HD playback I tried playing my recorded videos and voila, its also lagging...

3. Camera issues... other functions/effects of the phone's camera software was lost. WTH. no ISO function, the 3D panorama effect was gone... captured image with bright/foggy issues... Its a good thing this is not a big of an issue to me... but its still annoying as **** since from time to time I need to use it if I cannot bring my separate camera to an event/occassion...

4. When using the phone, it gets hotter than it usually does...

5. Also, why can I not change the screen lock image when I'm using other options than the swipe mode???

SONY PLEASE FIX THE BUGS ASAP!!! Or rather give the users at least a downgrade option!!!! >__<</p>

I have the same problem. Its realy annoing... The video capturing was the only good alternative having in mind I cant take pictures because of "low light" or the fact, my acro S cant eaven take focus... and now Im unable to make video... That's funny, come on guys! I decided to try Sony and now I'm half the way disappointed. The camera isnt the only disappointing option. Xperia acro S is missing somehow 100 - 200MB RAM, cant use PCs internet, when other brands can, has lower camera led light, and so on, and so on... Please, Sony, make it worth the price it costs! My mother's lower price HTC works just fine and I adviced my friends to buy it and they are happy for the money they spent, having few issues that arent as important as the video playback, crap camera and 45C heated phone... hahaha. Realy, hope to fix that sort of problems soon. About two months and I wont say Im happy having this product. I might try another brand next time, but that means I wont take the risk of buying sony smartphone again...

Sorry to hear about the problems and i'll forward your feedback.

Regarding MX Player, make sure that you have enabled HW+ under Settings in the app. This might be required for some files. Also check that you're using this codec: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.ffmpeg.v7_neon

If you have files that requires reencoding, try converting them with Media Go. That should give you the correct codec settings for the phone.
