Vibrates when submerged

Why when I submerge my Z5 it doesn't stop vibrating?

Hi

I am a fan of sony for years.

I had a xperia z1 and got a z5 premium ten day ago. In maldives I took the phone to sea and took some videos in the sea (in the surface and for less than ten minutes).

It was fine. I washed the phone to remove salt and the problem started. It started vibrating no stop. 

Phone boots completely and when in loads up the screen goes black! 

I guess this is a sofware problem with finger prints. I really want to take my holidays pics out but I can not connect to phone.

I have tried washing and putting in rice but it seems useless.

I will be thankful for any help.

Welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear that, but most probably your water damaged your phone. It's clearly stated in Waterproofness properties of your phone that sea water is a big NO, and also it's generally not recommended to use your phone for taking pictures in any type of water.

What you can do now is leaving your phone shut off with flaps open for 48 hours, maybe any residual moisture would evaporate and you can start it again, yet do not try to charge it for this period.

If it still doesn't start you'll need to contact your Local support.

Thanks for reply. I am an engineer and I have designed and used machines with IP68 and Z5 is NOT IP68 but let's focus on problem.

Will I lose my pictures with resetting the phone?

If the camera was set to save the photos on internal memory then in case phone won't start you'll not be able to recover them, especially if a software repair using PC Companion is performed. If they are on SD card then they should be safe as long as the card itself is not damaged by salt water.

On a side note, as stated by Sony it is an IP68 certified phone. If you have doubts or comments on that you can easily contact Sony directly through your Local support.

Disable smart connect notifications. When I plug earphones in smart connect pops up and vibrates and maybe when your phone is submerged it thinks earphones are being put in.
