USB OTG

I am trying to use USB OTG using cable in my new Xperia SL. And I got "USB Power Error". While searching for the solution, i got this link. http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/46849.

First i want to know what exactly "On The Go" means? I guess it means wherever i go i should be able to use my USB with my mobile. But it does not seems like happening.

OK. Let me digest that.

Now, I need to know what exactly the "Power Error" is. Is it like it's gonna take more power to access the USB storage. If it is like that, then let the user to take a decision. If user is ready to charge it if power goes down then let the user to take that risk. Atleaset give a option to user.

Expecting a positive reply soon.

Surprizing...

My xperia raised a power error for my 8GB pendrive, where as it is perfectly working for my 16GB pendrive.

Surprised and feels good to know that my mobile also does this. Slightly_smiling_Face

But; still i want to know when "Power Error" will be shown.

As I understand this error will be shown when the connected device requires more power than the phone can provide.

OTG works with FAT formatted USB sticks

To use some NTSC and others that have power problems use a hub (helpful if powered but not essential) in between.

Often the power error is a firmware bug and has nothing to do with power -which is why it resolves when you put an unpowered hub/adapter in between
