USB OTG SUPPORT

Hi,

i have just bought a new female to female usb 2.0 coupler (See video below)

Video Link

i connected the connector that comes with the sony xperia z3, to the usb 2.0 female to female coupler adapter

so that kinda looks like a USB OTG now.. with a micro on the other end and a female on the other end. (See image below)

my problem is... when i attached the micro end to my phone and a usb flash stick... nothing happens, not even i installed apps for otg detection or otg file browser...

does Xperia z3 not support ... sony xperia z3 connector + usb female to female + usb stick?

or is there another issue... and i assure you all of the items used are in perfect condition...

The Z3 does support OTG so it's either the coupler or cable or both causing the issue or your USB drive in in a unsupported format or is itself not compatible

thank you for your quick response,

im 100% sure that the sony xperia z3 cable connector is 100% working and has no issue...

i am thinking it could be a power issue? maybe theres no power for the usb2.0 female to female coupler?

p.s. i tried to do this on other brand smartphones with the connector they came with... and the issue is the same... as my xperia z3..

is it possible that its a power issue? the usb coupler has no power at all.. its just 2 female socket..

It maybe a power issue but also maybe the coupler is the issue or length of cable as a normal OTG cable is only about 4 to 6 inches

oh good idea,

i will need to test it on a shoter usb cable... there are several videos where they show using a smartphone connector + coupler + usb stick and i noticed the length of their connector, maybe that will work. i need to find a shorter 1..
