USB Debugging wont work without switching on USB Tethering/Device wont show up on adb

My XPU is on 6.1.1.B.1.10.  The device wont show up on adb interface even though the usb debugging is on unless the usb tethering is on. I can confirm the device shows up on adb interface when usb debugging is on and then I switch on usb tethering. This makes it impossible to root because most root methods will reboot the device which will switch off usb tethering and therefore in my case cause the device to not show up in adb. It also causes flashtool to say that usb debugging is off even though the phone screen confirms that debugging is on. Is there a way to fix this issue?. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, re-flashing my phone, reinstalling all flashtool drivers.

Moving thread to proper forum.

This sounds like a driver problem but i'm not familiar with the drivers used for Flashtool. Try using another USB-port and make sure the cable is connected directly to the computer and not through a USB-hub. If that doesn't help, install only PC Companion in another computer and check if adb works.
