On mine the piece that retains it to the phone broke because it strained by the usb connector when in place.
I returned it first to the O2 shop where I bought it and they sent it away to Sony repair centre and was return as being accidental damage not covered by warranty.
When I got it back I phoned the Sony centre and was told that is correct and would cost a minimum of £40 (€60, $64) to repair. I did not go any further as I also checked on the value of the phone (£230/€276/$368 new) on ebay they are going for less than £150 and the I buy phone places (include O2 who sold the phone) only offered £50 (that is in not damaged condition, O2 offered £25!!
Lost £205 in less than 3 months!!! so I decided that it was not worth paying more than £40 to repair
If compared to other Sony phones the Go had dropped in twice that of other Sony phones. Sola dropped from £240 to £170, P £280 to £235, U £180 to £150, Go £230 to £50.
This and problems I've had with Learning client after more than decade of Sony phones means this will be the last!!!
My advice is buy another non Sony phone and the Go as a door stop/ spare phone/ ice hockey puck
