Since a week or so, Sony PC Companion tries to update the software on my laptop.
It breaks with the message that the installation has failed. No further details. So the event viewer shows the error below.
Got Windows 7 Pro, completely updated with all patches and SP's, and PC Companion has "worked" always before.
Anyone has a sollution ? (Going to try to uninstall everything and reinstall the application now).

Thanks for the reply Nabeel, but the software you linked to was for updating my phone (and it was already up to date), and not de software on the pc. It was the PC companion software (PCS) itself that needed the update but was failing.
It took me 4 times to uninstall, and some manual deleting of files and registry settings, to have the Sony PC Companion perform a clean new installation. (Needed to do the cleaning, because PCS was complaining about some class module that could not be loaded.)
Anyway, got it working again.
Thx.
