Update that will 'reset all settings and apps'

Hello,

I know that the new firmare for the Xperia T will ' reset all settings and apps '. If I backup the phone and restore it afterwards, will everything be the same as it was before the update? Will anything be lost? E.g. any progress in games on the phone, will that be lost and will I have to start them again?

Sorry for asking, it's just I have no idea!

Thank you Slightly_smiling_Face

if you update your phone through SUS most of the time progress in games will be gone, unless its a game that its synced to facebook or googleplus

Google seems that it will allow app data to be backed up on their servers now

So what exactly does Sony PC Companion backup? Would I have to download all my apps again from Google Play, or will it install them back for me? How about settings e.g. wifi setting etc?
I have found an app called Helium to back up my app data.

yes you have to download all the apps from the play store, you can not back up the apk files as that will be on Warez territory (google warez)

you can backup everything with either PCC (sms, mms, contacts, etc) or use the backup & restore app

I have updated the phone using SUS there is an screen to choose if you want to reset the phone or not and it has not made me loose the settings on the phone.

By the Way i have the settings enabled backup and restore option to save the settings on the google server

The option is available at Settings--->Back up and Restore--->back up my data

and the automatic restore selected.
