update problem

hello

i updated my xperia S to 4.1.2 android version now some applications stopped working like messaging , we i press on the app icon it shows an error ,i can't send or receive any messages ,i also tried to remve the app but i couldn't.

another problem is my contact list ,after the update my cotact list became empty

my contact are there because when i use apps like whatsup or viber the numbers are shown but when i enter the contact list there's nothing

Open contacts - press onn the three dots - filter - local contacts. make sure all the options under local contacts are ticked.

Just to expand on the above advice:

Make sure nothing is ticked under the "Filer" section, but make sure all options are ticked under the "Display Contacts" section of the same screen.
