update problem for xperia s

Hello everyone.I just bought sony xperia s, what is this new firmware update 6.1.A.2.45? because it's in my notification list, can I update my phone with this firmware even if it's still in android version 2.3.7 and not yet ICS? please help guys,I really need your advice, coz I'm scared if this update might only ruin my new phone.pleeeeease help... The new update is as usual ICS, with some fix for previous ics build.
There'll be no problem if u update directly from GB to ICS. (Over-internet or sony update service)
But u will experience shorter battery life because ICS uses more battery.

You can upgrade, but I wouldn`t recommend, becouse there are many bugs in ICS upgrade
