Hi everyone,
Ive noticed a massive wealth of information on here and was hoping I could press for your help too...
I have a normal Xperia X10 running v1.6 under firmware. I've never update my phone or anything like that in the time ive had it. The most change it sees is if I install a new game.
I wanted to update my phone to see if it would help with a recent problem ive been having where a lot of my games 'Force Close' more than usual.
I downloaded the PC companion and the Software Update Service. Ive tried to update using both.
I disconect USB and turn phone off, I hold the 'back button' as instructed when reconecting phone to USB and nothing happens. The phone just turns back on but with a lengthier delay than normal. My PC flashes up a message saying that the last USB item I installed is not recognised. Nothing more happens and no update continues.
I'm using windows 8 if thats any difference, but the PC Companion said it's compatible with Windows8.
HELP PLEASE ! ? ! ?
This is getting majorly frustrating.
This often happens if the button is not being held down prior the connection. If the button is not being held firmly when you plug it in then the phone will power on and the update will not run.
