Unsupported AC3 format

I've recently found out that my phone SE-LWW doesn't support ac3 audio format. Being a Walkman phone, not supporting an audio format is not acceptable. I have solution for it. I can install 3rd party music players and can play it, but my question is y is it not supported in the native player, and will there be an update to fix this issue too????

No, that's correct, AC3 is not a supported format as standard, but easily added by downloading a third part music player.

Why is isn't supported I can't really tell I'm afraid, but to me MP3 is in absolute majority when it comes to what format that is most common when listening to music in phones.

I haven't heard of any news concerning that there's a coming update with extended support for more formats I'm afraid.
