unresponsive touch screen

I fell asleep on my phone (Xperia S) and when i woke up and tried to use it the screen was not responsive. Am able to restart it using the volume and power buttons but when it comes back on nothing works. the camera buttn on the side works too.

The screen just won't respond.

Please help

I'm sorry to hear. If the touch function does not react after forcing a restart/shut down (ON/OFF button + volume up(+)), I suggest that you perform a software repair on your unit via Update Service:

Download and install SUS on your PC, follow the instructions that appear.

But if the issue remain, the phone needs to be examined by a technician at a service center. Thereby, you should contact the nearest service center and/or your local support team for further information about how you should proceed in this case:
