unresponsive touch screen on my Z2.

Hello guys.

I'm sorry if there is another thread similar to this one, but i could not find it.

I have had my Z2 for a while now. I'm very happy with my phone, but there are a few problems that i need fixed or deliver the phone back, because i cant use it like this.

When i use the touch screen either calling a number, writing a text or anything, it aint always so responsive.

If i write a little word like: "Hi, my name is dave" then what i see written is: "H, Myname is dve"

This is VERY hard for me to tolerate right now. I have always had samsung phones and i have never had any issues with the touch, but i wanted to test a Sony phone and i bought this one. My first impression was very good, but now its not that great.

Does anyone have the same issue or know what i can do? Is it my phone or is it something else?

Are you using a screen protector?

Hi, first thing to do/try is a Software Repair.....

I still have problem here. I notice the problem more when i write text messages. I do not notice it when i write here now or when i write on facebook or other things. Only when i'm gonna write an sms.

Anyone that have had this problem?

I have this problem too which i have sent off a mail to support again.

I am finding the issue with using the keyboard but navigating the rest of the phone is responsive as are the icons.

However when ever i have to type in a message i get major slow downs, the key presses are not registering and i have to press them a number of time. If i try to swipe the keys then it often misses letters out and i have very random words appear.

URLs are usually ok but typing in apps like Messenger and WhatsApp are a chore.

I have tried another keyboard such as Swiftkeys but this is having the same issue. I have also tried turning off vibrate on keypress but this is still not helping. 90% of the time i get the slowdown... really happy when it's responsive Slightly_smiling_Face

I have tried to repair the software and reboot the phone but this is not helping at all.

I am experiencing the same problem, although this problem only occured after I repaired my phone.

I dropped it and cracked the screen, so I turned it in to a local shop that repaired my device.

I then noticed after I got it back that it did miss alot of the touch functionality. I returned it to the Shop and they said It was a software issue, but In my mind that sound like a strange thing. Seeing that the phone was not updated or reseted during the repairation.

This said, I belive there is some faulty screens out there floating about. Since I did not have the problem before I changed the Display on the phone.

Well. You just described my problem.

Absolutely NO problem before my screen got replaced. I had the phone repaired at a service center. Did not get reset to factory default when they repaired it, but i did a factory reset after i got it back because of the lack of response on the touch.

But i only feel that the touch is bad when i write a sms, so it has to be a software issue since i only have problems in one place.

Update on my post.

I just got the new firmware, and now i have trouble writing in facebook, sms, in a browser and almost everywhere. I also have some issues with touch on apps and other places.

Should i just return this  phone to the store and hope that it is a hardware issue and not a software issue?

This is now becoming more frustrating as it now takes a lot of edits to type anything out. Even tried glove mode to make the screen more responsive but that's not working either Slightly_frowning_Face
