Unlocking bootloader and remote play?

I been looking into unlocking my bootloader on my z3 (so i can get updates quicker), however on different threads I keep reading that DRM apps such track id or remote play will not function, is this true?

The main reason I brought my z3 (over an Iphone/samsung s6) was due to remote play.

I will be severly disappointed if I loose it,

That's true, why do you need to unlock the booloader if you don't mind me asking

To your question, my network is abnormally slow in allowing updates for my z3. My thinking was to manually update via the generic updates, but the flash tool needs the bootloader to be unlocked.

That's not accurate, you can use flashtool without unlocking the bootloader
