Unlocking a sgp 621 tablet

Hi

Just took delivery of my new age 621 tablet, can somebody pleasantly me how to find out if it is unlocked as I don't have the correct sim yet

Is there a way I can personally unlock it Myself?

Go to contacts and dial *#*#7374423#*#*-Service info-SIM lock.

Yeah,thanks for covering me Thommo. My mind went a little strange because I thought it was a wifi only tablet.

Blimy haven't brought any Sony products for a little while, don't laugh last one was a Sony personal sterio, that's what it was called then (cassette player if anybody can remember those.

Wonders this tablet is amazing, anyway had a little look and found this

Sim lock

(X) network 5

Does that mean 5 networks available ie Unlocked?

As far as I know,the tablet is locked and you have 5 unlock tries.

Also wondering if Sony will honour the warranty I brought this New from eBay no recept.

Sorry,this is something we aren't aware of. But usually you'll have to claim warranty from your seller.

@alexdon is right the [X] means locked and the 5 means the amount of tries you have to unlock the device, Also if the seller isn't an authorised reseller then you will have to take up warranty issues with them unless they have the origonal receipt and are willing to hand it over

OK thank you very much for your help, had a look on ebay looks like it's costs about A tenner to unlock them.
