Uninstalling unwanted apps

E3 phones apparently cannot be rooted as on this page - is there ANY way to uninstall all the pre-installed apps that I don't want or need?

The only way to remove pre-installed apps is to root the phone.

If you don't want to root but don't want to see those apps and you can't disable from within the phone then there's a program called Debloater which will freeze them

It's not that I don't want to root, the Sony page I linked to in my OP tells me that the E3 cannot be rooted.

I'm a bit confused - the app you linked to shows an exe file which obviously won't install on Android - do I have to install on a PC and do it from there? (There doesn't seem to be much info on that web page...)

The E3 is listed as been able to have it's bootloader unlocked, scroll to the bottom and select E3 and see here which may help should you wish to Root
