Uninstalling / Stopping Facebook

Hi there,

I've tried repeatedly to uninstall Facebook from my Sola, but it just won't go away -- the two background Facebook services won't stop running

I've been using Settings > Manage Applications > Running Services > (select Facebook and FBiX processes ) > Stop, which seems to get rid of them for 30 seconds, but then they bounce back.

Is there anything else I can try?

go to settings -> accounts & sync did you synced any fb account?

settings -> xperia -> facebook inside Xperia -> uncheck integration

"Facebook integration" is unchecked (and I don't have a Facebook account anyway).

Auto-sync is activated for Google only.

I hardly doubt there's a way to stop it, since Sony add the fb integration it's always running, but look into the apps and widgets that you have, one might be triggering this, like timescape

You can't uninstall or stop the Facebook application/services in the phone as default. The phone is designed with an unique Facebook integration.

Well, it's certainly unique....

Hate that, actually... The daily nagging about updating faceblurb is VERY annoying, especially when I not even have a facebook account!

And it feels stupid that faceblurb take up HUGE memory resurces, when I not even use it!!

I know I can inactivate faceblurb in ICS but I don't want a very unstable system, instead... I did only need to soft reset my SEX pro once after 6 months and that is a very "soft" and safe feeling 😉

What if I don't want to use Facebook in my phone? Same goes to Google +. That "unique" feature, is a perfect example of wasting resources for absolutely nothing, you can't assume that everybody will want or use social networks. Or you should advertise the phone that way. "This is a social network dependant phone, you will be using memory, cpu and battery for those apps, whether you like it or not".

not quite, with ICS you can disable them, or you can root your phone and remove the apps

Not really, I just bought the phone, and I will break warranty terms if I do any of your suggestions. Of course I can do whatever operation (non authorized by the manufacturer), if I use any DIY solutions, say good bye to Sony warranty. I want facebook out of my phone. I bought a cell phone (generic) , not a Facebook phone.
