Unable to unSIMlock my X8

My mobile Xperia X8 is SIMlocked with Orange. I was given (several times) by support the unlock code corresponding to the IMEI but this code is rejected by the phone. I checked code is identical to the mail I received from operator and IMEI is obtained by *#06# command.

Can somebody help?

First of all, have you contacted Orange to make sure that they haven't sent you the wrong code?

Yes of course, it was my first idea. I asked support 3 times ad also found the support web site where to automatically get the code. I also checked the EMEI # that stands on the box is also the same that the one I get with *#06# command. I am stuck yet 😞

Have a look at this web page to check your phone's precise lock status, particularly your network lock status--it maybe that you have no attempts left (will show up as 0 next to the padlock) and that your phone is hard locked.

Hi, from your stand-by screen, press left-star-star-left: here you can check your phone's precise lock status, particularly your network lock status--it maybe that you have no attempts left (will show up as 0 next to the padlock) and that your phone is hard locked.

hi Chris,

I do not know how to to generate the < symbol, but what I can say is that:

- the phone does'nt look like HW lock becaus it works fine with an Orange SIM card

- the other operator SIM gets unlocked by the default code 0000 and then I am asked for the UNLOCK PIN for network SIM (translated from french)

- the SIM from Numericable operator does not display any message when inserted in an another phone not SIM LOCKED by Orange (but I cannot connect to the network with it maybe Operator not present here?)

Not quite sure what you're trying to say, but to check your lock status, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. Switch ON your phone without a SIM Card,
  2. Lock the screen and the phone will ask you to do the unlock move,
  3. Press sequences: Menu, Back, Back, Menu,Back,Menu, Menu, Back (in Mini models the menu button can be marked as a single larger square),
  4. Select Service info,
  5. Select SimLock,
  6. Check the number near SIM,
  7. This is the number of remaining attempts to enter the code,
  8. If it is zero (0) unlock via codes is NOT available.

Look at the numbers under the SIM lock menu for each of the following: Network, Network Subset, Service provider, Corporate, SIM.

What numbers do you have?

Sorry Chris but nothing happens when entering the sequence.

I try this in the unlock move screen right?

If the sequence I posted before doesn't work, then dial  *#*#7378423#*#*  to get to the service menu.
