Unable to install apps from Amazon App store

Hi,

The phone (Xperia M2 Aqua) comes with the Amazon Store app.  When trying to download Android apps from the Amazon store, the app comes back with the information that this app cannot be used to download apps and to go and download a different version. I've downloaded the different version, but the installation fails (installation from unknown sources is enabled).  An update of the Amazon store app via Goolge Playstore did not solve the problem either. Still unable to download Andriod apps via Amazon App store.

The phone was updated to the latest version ( 18.3.1.C.1.15 ). Still no success.

I've called Sony support and the agent took notice of the situation and said to call be the next day, which didn't happen.

Can someone try it with their phone.  I'd like to install the Amazon Instant Video app, which is only available via Amazon Store app.

I have no problem installing apps from Amazon. Work perfectly for me, and I have also tried the FreeAppofthe day app from amazn and installed apps from there as well.... so try checking dev settings again. Surerly it must work somehow.  if not, try clearing istall app caches.

How do I check the dev settings and how do I clear the install cache?

ok, so for the dev settings:

in your settings menu they should be right above the "About phone" . If they are not ther, go to about phone, scroll down to "Build number"  and click on it several time (fast) until a message pops up that says: Congrats, you are now a developer. Then click the back button, and presto. Dev settings just above the about phone. Check there for other installing software settings.

Now for the cache cleaning: go  to settings, in the DEVICE menu, the last button says apps. click on it, scroll side-ways untill it says "All" . then scroll down to the app, click on it.  there will be a page that has a lot of buttons: force stop, disable /uninstall updates, clear data and clear cache. Try clearing data and cache for the apps that do not work.

Also this is a great way to get rid of some factory apps that u do not use without routing your phone. ( it facebook for me lol).
