Unable to dismiss notification

Ever since I started using my SmartBand my phone has shown a notification from Lifelog called "Tips for logging".

Despite several attempts, this notification refuses to dismiss. Is there a reason for this?

Space in the notification area is valuable and it seems odd that Sony would insist that this tip stays visible when it has no real value over time.

You can go to settings -> Apps -> Lifelog and then un-check "Show notifications", this way you won't get noticiations at all from that app

Well, yes, but that kind of defats the purpose, and still does not address the question of a persistent yet potentially useless "tip".

I remember seeing this a couple times... are you able to expand the notification? If so, do you see something like "don't show again"?
