Trouble with the phone after using WeChat voice message function

I have trouble using WeChat (by Tecant) in my Xperia Z. Once I used WeChat with the voice message, my phone speaker is locked. I cannot speak on my phone with my friends on the other end. What is the problem? How to solve it?  Help please.

I would think it's a compatibility issue, try different apps and see if you have the same issue

I agree with uliwooly. Don't have problem with whatsapp. it should be caused by wechat.

That I figured out already. However, many of my friends are using this Apps in China and Hong Kong. I would like to keep this Apps to communicate with my friends.  I don't know if anyone has a solution.

Wechat is a good alternative to Whatsapp.

Best solution is to feedback to WeChat. Thats teh source of the problem, isn't it?

@gary.yung there isn't anything wrong with your phone but the app, in other words, there isn't anything that can be done to make it work, you have to contact the developer.

It's not totally WeChat's fault though from what I discoverd, because the WeChat app doesn't lock the mic for other applications. Skype, and other mic using applications like the voice recorder I made myself for interviews, will still work after using WeChat. So the mic is still available.

The problem seems to be an issue with WeChat and the dialer app that is used. I've yet to try other dialer apps instead of the stock one on the XZ but will try to feedback that later. And if it is the stock dialer app that causes the problem ( it can't use the mic somehow), this can be experienced as a phone problem as it is the stock dialer.

Also turning off the noise cancelling/reduction feature of the Xperia Z seems to solve this problem. So it could also be a problem with using the second mic on the backside. If you guys could try that and see if it works?
